Financial Literacy for Youth Empowerment in Arevabuyr and Marmarashen

Understanding how to budget, manage expenses, and explore income opportunities is more than a financial skill—it’s a step toward agency, decision-making, and building a sustainable future.

Recognizing this, the Arevashen youth team partnered with KY Academy to organize a financial literacy workshop for rural youth in Arevabuyr and Marmarashen villages. The initiative was designed to equip young people with practical tools to support their personal goals and community contributions.

Led by Lilit Vatoyan, founder of KY Academy, the workshop introduced participants to core concepts such as budgeting, income generation, and responsible spending. The learning experience combined theory with real-life application, reinforcing financial confidence among youth often left out of such discussions.

The most active participants were also invited to join KY Academy’s advanced personal development workshops free of charge, expanding their educational horizons.

This initiative directly supports SDG 4: Quality Education – by promoting inclusive, lifelong learning, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – by preparing youth for economic participation, and SDG 1: No Poverty – by fostering financial resilience and opportunity.

The Arevashen project is developed by ArmeniaCorps participants from Arevabuyr and Marmarashen, and funded through the US Department of State Public Diplomacy Section grant within the ArmeniaCorps Development Initiative.
